Best Peanut Butter Cookies for Camping
When you’re out camping and your kids are demanding something sweet, these are the best peanut butter cookies for camping! They can be made ahead of time, freeze well, and make a great snack or dessert. You’ll have everyone begging for more when you get back from your trip!
These easy peanut butter cookies have just three ingredients (and take just a few minutes to whip up!) and are a perfect snack for the kids when camping.
Plus, these cookies are gluten free and also sugar-free if you substitute the sugar with Splenda.
Peanut Butter Cookies are some of my favorites! You can’t get any easier than this recipe either. All you need is three simple ingredients – in fact you probably have these ingredients in your pantry right now.
- peanut butter
- egg
- sugar
When making your peanut butter cookies it’s important to flatten the cookies dough on the baking sheet with a fork. I like to do it in a cris-cross pattern. Not only does it aid in the baking, the criss-cross marks make the cookies so cute!
Peanut butter cookie dough is thicker than other types of cookie dough. When making the criss-cross marks in the cookie dough balls, it flattens them for more even baking. Unless you press the cookies, they will not cook evenly. The cookies are done when the edges are lightly golden brown.
So let’s take a look at how easy these cookies are to make! Like I said, you start with three simple ingredients: peanut butter (use your favorite), sugar, and an egg.
Put all three ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix until well combined and smooth.
Roll cookie dough into 1.5 inch balls and place on greased baking pan. Press each ball with a fork, twice to make the criss-cross marks and flatten the dough slightly.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown around the edges.
Allow the cookies to cool on a cooling rack until completely cool before storing them in an air-tight container. This recipe yields 18 servings.
